It is celebrated on 11th lunar day in the Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik every year. In this year the auspicious day of Devotthani Ekadashi and Tulsi Vivah is on 19th November 18. This day is considered sacred and auspicious according to Vedic traditions. The occasion of Devotthani Ekadashi marks the end of the period of four months of inauspicious time. It is the start of the auspicious timing. The day is of great significance as it initiates the season of marriages.
Tulsi Vivah:-
It is the ceremonial marriage of the Tulsi (Holy Basil) to the Hindu God Shaligram or his incarnated form Lord Krishna. The Tulsi wedding signifies the end of the monsoon and the beginning of the wedding season. Tulsi is venerated as a Goddess in Vedic tradition and is considered as a wife of Lord Vishnu. Tulsi Vivah is performed on Prabodhini Ekadashi. This year it will be observed on 19th November 2018.
